What is the connection between baptism and salvation? Bob Myhan explains, with Scriptural proof, that baptism is for the forgiveness of sins through the working of God. Mr. Myhan quotes Bible verses left and right, clearly expounding upon the teaching of the Word of God. He does not speculate (as so many teachers do today), but teaches with the Authority of God's written Word to back him up.
If you are not completely sure what the Bible teaches about being baptized, read and study the Bible. The truth is in the book of God. But I recommend Myhan's book as a tool to help you begin your journey into understanding the Bible teaching on baptism and salvation.
I also recommend this book as an excellent guide for Christians doing bible studies with unsaved friends and family members.
Bob Myhan's book, Water Baptism and Salvation, is a wonderful
contribution to a very important subject. He addresses key texts
in a simple, yet powerful way. He discusses phrases within the
texts, in order to allow the scriptures to speak in their own
behalf.
He analyzes such themes as Baptism in the Home of Cornelius,
Baptism into Jesus Christ and into His Death, Baptism in the
Name of Christ, Baptism into One Body, etc.
In the Appendix he comments on Infant baptism, Holy Spirit
Baptism, Salvation By Grace Through Faith, How The Holy
Spirit Operates In Salvation, etc.
The book needs to be read, and it is suitable to give to friends,
family, co-workers, neighbors, and other people who need to
know the importance of immersion in God's plan of salvation.
The book is laid out very attractively. An added feature is the
very readable print!
The Publisher, Erhardt Publications of Louisville, Kentucky has
an outstanding history of publishing attractive, reader friendly,
and most of all, biblically sound literature. Making Myhan's
book available to the public is no less a successful contribution
to religious literature.

I gave this title a 5 star rating for its clear delivery of truth on the scriptures and the authors concise explanation of baptism and salvation. As is brought out in the preface, there is no doubt that the author is speaking from experience on the wild range of thoughts in the religious world on baptism and salvation. Having experienced first hand the doctrines taught by the different denominations and seeking out salvation by these methods, give the author his basis for this straight-forward and understandable publication.
The writer takes 11 chapters that are each based on particular verses on Baptism. He breaks down the meaning and intent of the verses to help the reader understand the application of Baptism and its relation to salvation. This is not a book that is cluttered with scholarly opinions and rhetoric to confuse the reader. Mr. Myhan simply guides us through the meaning of the verses with other supporting scriptures and logic -- leaving the reader to determine the conclusion of the matter based upon the presented evidence.
This book is great as a teaching tool for those who are seeking out the truth and as a study guide to those who are seasoned pros. As others have mentioned, the appendix section answers additional questions that many have when studying scriptures pertaining to Baptism, such as infant Baptism and Holy Spirit Baptism. These were particularly helpful to me in my own study.
I recommend this book for everyone to have as a guide and tool in your library. It gives insight on how to approach questions that relate to Baptism for salvation, and it will serve to help you in your studies and personal work for years to come.

Bob's treatment of this subject (water baptism) is very thorough and addresses much of the confusion that exists in the religious world concerning the meaning and purpose of baptism. He explores key passages that clearly teach water baptism as an important part of God's plan for salvation....just as important as belief, repentance, and devotion to Christ's teachings. I grew up in the baptist church and was told that baptism was not essential to salvation. I was taught told that it was only an outward sign of an inward faith that had already saved me. Bob shows from the Scriptures that we enter Christ's church at the point of baptism. He shows from the text that our sins are not forgiven until we submit to being baptism. In baptism, we call on the Lord's name to forgive our sins. I highly recommend this short book to anyone studying the subject of baptism. Because Christ and the apostles commanded it, its a very important subject!
